The Face.

I was lost in the woods, unable to find my destination. I decided to walk towards the light. Towards the rising sun.

I could hear all sorts of sounds; birds twittering, frogs croaking, twigs snapping and sounds I couldn’t recognize. I look up and notice birds leaving their nests. Probably to find food for themselves and their offspring.

Winding Road

Was I taking the right road? I could feel faith leaving me. I take a turn and I meet a figure taller than me, I could barely see his face, his head was covered with a hood made of animal skin. I ask him for the way, he tells me to go straight ahead. I keep walking on only to find more miles added on to my path. But was it mine?

I see a woman slowly approaching her prey. Closing in for the kill. Feral. I call out to her. Freeze, turn, snarling and curses at me. I cost her a meal. Unaffected, I ask her about the way forward. She throws her head back, lustrous long hair falling down and tells me to take another path. The current one just won’t do.

The new path takes me deeper into the woods; I hear frightening noises and see shady shadows hidden right behind every leaf. I start running forward but only to fall into a ditch. I couldn’t remember for how long was I in the ditch. Presently, a man helps me out. He asks me to go back the way I had come. I do as he asks. I find open ground. Thirsty. I find a pond with a moon in it.

A dirty and bloodied face stare back at me as I bend down to drink from the pond. Startled, I fall back. Heart pounding. I approach the face in the pond. Or was it the moon? I see his mouth forming words and my ears recreating them, “Why take the road travelled by others. Find yours”.

I hear someone call my name. The misty dreams fades and reality takes shape. I desperately try to snatch back my fast fading dream. It escapes my memory’s feeble efforts. But I remember one thing and one thing only. The face in the pond right next to the moon.

Dictionary

One of my friend wants me to create a dictionary of my own as I have no knowledge in English Grammar, which is true and I have always admitted the fact!.So be it. Here’s my dictionary.

Multiplexes in Kochi

A decade ago Kochites would wish to go as far as Bangalore to enjoy good movies at Multiplexes , in two months time, it looks like Kochites would be spoiled for choices!

With already two good multiplexes; Cinemax and Qcinemas with 4 screen each, there’s another two more multiplexes to be opened soon with as much as 19 screens, that’s twice the amount of screens we already have. Cinepolis will be opening with 11 screens at Central in MG Road and PVR will be opening 8 screens at Lulu at Edapally.

It’s going to be a Happy Movie time for Kochites!

What Facebook revealed!

Yesterday I was installing a Facebook application in my mobile and I unintentionally or rather Facebook sent mass friend request to all my contacts saved in my phone.

Guess what happened next, obviously I had to cancel all friend request sent, thanks to the new activity log, even though I had to manually cancel all request, it was easy! But it revealed a lot of things.

1. One of my close friends has a fake profile! He isn’t any celebrity but he does!, that too linked with his mobile no as the application uses the phone nos in your contacts to send request and his profile has liked 521 random pages.
2. There were at least 30 fake profile created randomly with just names and possibly random phone no. out of 225 request sent which suggests 10% of users in Facebook are fake! BEWARE
3. A few random people have used the phone nos of the contacts I have and linked it with their profile, that was really weird!
4. One of the request sent was to a prominent media person whose no. I am sure I never had, I thought this could be because of two reasons either he/she uses mobile no which is not his or hers or it could be the no of someone I knew and he would have stopped using the no and the service providers would have allotted the same no. to another person

That was it, took two whole hours to cancel the request, but boy it revealed a lot of things, I made sure no one can find me using mobile no. search, you can too disable it in your privacy settings!

Travel in Kochi Metro by 2017

That’s not a tag line by Kochi Metro or DMRC, but at the pace they are working, looks like it’s gonna be true. I was pessimist about Kochi Metro ever getting on track, but when I saw the tenders on DMRC website  for construction of via ducts from Aluva to International Stadium, I am convinced that Kochites will be travelling in metro.  They have also kept a deadline of two years  for the completion of via ducts and stations along the route. DMRC has also started pulling down the centre portion of North ROB which they say the construction will be completed by November 2013.

DMRC has mentioned a few conditions for the completion of work in time, one of them being acquisition of land in a time bound manner. There is no major land acquisition required on the route the tenders have been floated and then again cash has already been handed over to majority of owners in the Banerjee road and MG Road stretch. With all parties wanting the Metro to come to Kochi, we can believe that no red tapism would hamper any paper works in the government office.

With everything in favor of Kochi metro, we will have a new form of transportation by 2017.
